About the School

The School of Animal and Range Sciences (SARSc) is one of the biggest Schools in the University owing to its long history and most qualified and experienced staff members.  The school has strong ties to education, research and outreach work within the surrounding community, the industry, the region, and the nation. Our facilities and laboratories, in addition to the school’s strong academic, research and service work, are supporting various governmental organisations, public universities (especially 3rd and 4th generation universities), ATVET colleges, NGOs and local community-at-large through teaching, laboratory services, advisory and hands-on practical trainings. School of Animal and Range Sciences provides education and researches in the areas of animal husbandry, range sciences, animal nutrition, animal breeding and genetics, animal biotechnology, aquaculture, apiculture and climate-smart agriculture. The school is devoted in producing qualified graduates, problem solving research and community engagements at different capacity.
